Meet the brain behind

Behaviour Boost

Hi, I’m Nadia Sinkovich.

Based in the beautiful Daintree rainforest, I’m a Mum of two beautiful children, registered teacher for more than a decade, master counsellor, and children’s advocate.

In 2021, during Covid lockdowns and online schooling, I discovered that I was able to connect with my students online in a way that had been missing from the classroom. Like many teachers, the system had warped my original outlook on my profession, and I began to consider alternatives.

That’s how Behaviour Boost came about.

My qualifications and experience were able to be rolled together in a business I’m proud to put my name to.

When I’m not working with other people’s families, you can usually find me hanging out with my own family swimming at a local freshwater creek, walking our dog, challenging the kids to a highly competitive monopoly card game or running my side hustle – Daintree Gateway Fruit Stall.

The Behaviour Boost Approach

This may seem a little counterintuitive to some, but at Behaviour Boost, our focus in not on academic outcomes but instead on the social and emotional wellbeing of your child.

We live hectic, busy lives and sometimes that means we don’t always have the bandwidth to give our children what they need emotionally or socially. There’s no shame in this and that’s what we can offer your family.

Through connecting with your child so he/she feels seen, heard, and valued, along with some 1:1 tutoring, academic success is usually a happy by-product of working with us. Not to mention the improved behaviours, family connections, and happiness!

If your child requires counselling rather than tutoring then our gentle, humanistic personal approach to therapy will help them to address whatever struggles they may be facing.

We believe in fostering the unique relationships that exist within families and can work with you to find a schedule that suits. Kids love working online and doing so allows us versatility to engage with your child in a way that they enjoy and respond well to.

Meet the tutors

Aside from Ms Nadia, we have a few other tutors that your child may be matched with. Here’s a little bit about them…

Ms Emma

Science and Humanities

Ms Emma is passionate about marine science and anything ocean-based. Having been a teacher for many years, she loves Behaviour Boost as it allows her to move away from the strict curriculum and enable children to deal with, recognise and cope with emotions first and foremost. Outside of the classroom, you will find her swimming in the ocean, travelling, volunteering at her local op shop or running the local church playgroup where she can unleash her inner child.

Ms Kelsey

Senior, English

Ms Kelsey was inspired to become a teacher by her parents who were dedicated school teachers as well as the amazing teachers she enjoyed learning from in her own life. She has a real love of learning, exploring and experimenting and her favourite thing about working with children is seeing them evolve in confidence, creativity and self-belief. When she’s not working, Ms Kelsey is a fire twirler, student of somatic therapy studies, dancer, baker of all sorts of sweets, an Aboriginal dot paint artist, a keen world traveller, a business consultant and Mum to a toddler.

Mr Arlo

Senior and Specialist Math

Having grown up in a rural area, Mr Arlo was drawn to tutoring because he knows how rural students can often be disadvantaged in accessing educational resources and limited 1:1 support. When he’s not tutoring young people, you might find him playing the guitar or piano, running, playing volleyball or rugby league. He has started studying medicine in 2024 but will continue to tutor in his spare time.

Ms Briony

Primary

Ms Briony’s passion for teaching was inspired by her own schooling, both positive and negative. She is keenly aware of the role educators provide in children’s lives and enjoys empowering her students by grounding them and cultivating an environment of growth, confidence, and wellbeing. Outside of the classroom, Ms Briony is interested in Ayurvedic wellness, nutrition, psychology and mindfulness and loves running and working out to stay fit.
